It’s your first time here, and it’s mine too. I’ve seen the way the light dances through leaves. It’s been awhile, but I used to lay and just watch the trees. I don’t notice every rainbow, I’ve seen rain quite a lot.
Most times I walk quickly, with places to go. It’s painful for me, the act of being slow.
There’s magic in stillness, I think I forgot. But when you came along, the world seemed to stop.
You’ve never seen leaves, as they change + they fall. The rainbows and weeds, you notice it all. You kneel in the grass, just to see it up close.
There’s no place except here that we need to be. So let’s lay in the sun, just to feel the earth breathe. You for the first time, while reminding me how to see.
